Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) is extensively grown through out the world. It is world's largest crop after potato and sweet potato, but tops the list of processed vegetables (Choudhury, 1996). The tomato production has tremendously increased due to its multifarious uses like raw for salad, cooked as vegetable and processed in many forms as soup, sauce, ketchups ,preserves, paste and puree (Tiwari and Choudhury, 1986).
