Description |
The Forest is a biological unit having a vast social organization of living communities at work and plays a vital role in maintaining a balanced ecological system. Developing countries like India today face a near crisis situation both in economic and environmental terms. This is particularly an outcome of unplanned extraction of the various natural resources under the inflating population pressure. Development in the katha industry using khair (Acacia catechu Willd.) as raw material is a living example, as most of the industries (small scale as well as cottage) are facing an acute shortage of raw material.
