Description |
Plant parasitic nematodes are widely distributed in all types of habitats, some of them are restricted to the particular type of climatic zones where as a large number of nematode species are cosmopolitan and pose serious threat to the production of horticultural and field crops. Among them, strawberry is one of the major fruit crops which is infested by the number of plant parasitic nematode species. Some nematode species directly damage the crop whereas others cause the loss indirectly in association with micro organisms, and this depends on the manner in which they feed on plants. However, their feeding behaviour may influence the pathogens to interact with other soil inhabiting micro organisms.
