Description Phosphorus has a significant role to play in the life cycle of any crop because of the fact that it is a constituent of nucleic acids such as RNA and DNA as also an energy carrier in the plant system. Besides, it is an essential part of many sugar phosphates that are involved in photosynthesis, respiration and other metabolic processess. Above all, it makes the root system of a plant very strong by imparting vigour to root mass and also enhances root volume and root density that help in the absorption of essential nutrients (both macro and micro) and moisture, and thus finally improves the productivity of crops.
