Rose (Rosa hybrida L.) is the top ranking cut flower of the world. It belongs to the family Rosaceae, originated in northern hemisphere and was brought to India by Babar in the year 1526. Its different types having beautiful flowers of exquisite shape, different sizes, forms, bewitching colours and most delightful fragrance has made it an important flower. Its commercial cultivation as a cut flower for export purpose started during 1992 and many EOU's were established around Pune, Bangalore, Gurgaon and Karnal.
