Tomato (Lycopersicon esculenhun Mill.) is one ofthe most prominent vegetable crops of the world. It has now become an important component of the vegetable market enterprises and earns the price patronage world over. It ensues potato and sweet potato in terms ofvalue, however, ranks first amongst the processing vegetables (Sandhu et. al., 1990). Its uses are multifarious. It is consumed raw as salad; cooked as vegetable; and processed as soups, sauce, ketchup etc. It is also a affluent source ofvitamin C, A and minerals.
