Description |
Phosphorus nutrition of plants has rightly bean regarded as tha "key to human hunger" because of its pivotal role in the normal growth and establishment of root system seed formation and hastening of crop maturity besidas being an essential constituent of nucleic acid. Tha need for phosphorus in our country Is much more felt because 98 par cent of our cultivated soils fall under low to medium categories with respect to available soil phosphorus content (Subramanlan 1986). The problem of phosphorus in many of the soils however, is not because of its actual deficiency but due to its low availability emanating from its fixation especially in acidic soils.
