Peach (Prunus persica Batsch.) is an important crop grown under wide range of agrocllmatic conditions ranging from temperate to Bub tropical regions. The major peach growing countries of the world are the United States, Canada, England, France, Australia and China. Besides, peach is also cultivated in India, Pakistan, Turkey, Japan, Germany, the Soviet Union and many other countries. In India 1t is grown mostly in the Himalayan regions starting from Jammu and Kashmir and extending upto Assam bills including the States of Himachal Pradesh and billy parts of Uttar Pradesh.
