Description |
Use of herbs for treating ailments is as old as the human civilization itself. Man has always relied on his surrounding vegetation for disease amelioration and through gradual use of several plant species many such species have stood the test of time for their therapeutical properties. This tradition even continues today, as per World Health Organization, almost 80 per cent of the human population uses them in either crude form or finished products. Amongst the thousands of herbs that are now known to possess medicinal properties, many of them are critical in treating several diseases.
