Description |
Cabbage is one of the major vegetable crops grown primarily during winters. The total area under cabbage cultivation in India is 2.4 lakh ha with production of 56.24 lakh tonn (Chadha 2001). In Himachal Pradesh, cabbage is grown either as main season crop during October - November or as an off-season crop transplanted between April to July, at regular intervals. In Himachal Pradesh cabbage crop is grown over an area of 1616 hectare and the annual production is 48692 tonn (Anonymous 1996).
