Description |
Apple (Malus domestica Borkh.), the premium table fruit of the world, is the most important temperate fruit crop of India. Its production in India is mainly confined to the Western Himalayas which comprise of J&K, H.P. and U.P. hills. In Himachal Pradesh, apple is grown over a large area which has increased to 75,469 hectares with a production of for some 1,22,782 tonnes (Anon., 1995).
