Description |
The status and magnitude of natural resources of an economy contribute significantly towards the process of sustainable development. Their management and conservation practices, thus, are of crucial importance to perpetuate resource potential for this economic progress. Fish is a peculiar renewable natural resource. Its bioeconomic analysis allows the insights into managerial requirements for sustainable use of renewable natural resources. More restrictly fish production is becoming popular as it reduces pressure on fixed land resources that have come under heavy pressure with the increase in population. Further, fishing sector provides ample scope for bridging the dietary demand-supply gap.
