Description |
Pea (Pisum sativum L) is a very common nutritious vegetable grown in the cool season throughout the world. It is grown as a vegetable crop for both green pods and dried seeds. It contains high percentage of digestible proteins, carbohydrates, sugar, minerals and vitamins. Being nitrogen fixing legume, its value as a green manure crop has long been recognized. The interest in pea as a soil building crop is increasing day by day as organic farming is the demand of the day.
