Description |
Indian agriculture has made steady progress after ushering in green revolution in the country in mid 80's. As a result of launching of special production programmes involving the use of quality seed, fertilizer's and associated inputs, foodgrain production increased from 108 million tonnes in 1970-71 to 188.4 million tonnes in 1994-95 showing an annual growth rate of about 3.02 per cent.
