Description Locale of this study is Kangra which is regarded as a relatively better suited farming belt, hence a prosperous one in Himachal Pradesh; its farming system in many ways fits better into a traditional type than in the modernised sector. The present survey revealed: ( a ) that in the asset structure land alone accounted for about 64.54 per cent of the physical resources; (b) that among the critical inputs like fertilizers, irrigation and seed the outlays were only 5.23;.., 0. 53 % and 10. 32...,respectively (includes the cost of home produced seed) of the total operational cost per hectare (c) as a consequence the yield rate of more significant crops was in no way superior to the State's average Yields.
