Here is a story of the people of Bilaspur, who, through the centuries, marched together on the road of peace and contentment, turmoil and torture, and finally, witnessed the ushering in an era of liberty and triumph. A princely order had existed here for more than a millennium. That order was extinguished when India, sixty years ago, awoke from its long slumber of slavery and stepped into an age of self-rule and democratic republican regime.
