Description |
distribution of a-mannosidase (EC 3.2.1.24) in various tissues of Canaualia ensiformis has been studied and a new form of the enzyme has been identified in the leaf. The new enzyme is immunologically distinct from the wellcharacterized seed enzyme since the polyclonal rabbit antisera against the latter, failed to cross-react with it in immuno-diffusion, immunoprecipitation and immunoblot experiments. The native enzyme has an approximate M, of 217000 and a pH optimum near 4, and it is stimulated by Zn 2+ In these respects, it is similar to the seed enzyme. |
