The clay-polymer nanocomposites offer a wide variety of application in agriculture.
In the present study bentonite NCPCs were prepared with two nano-bentonites loaded
with metribuzin were characterized in detail for their desired property. When
bentonite was introduced in polymer, the polymer layers penetrate into the silicate
layers and the clay was exfoliated leading to formation of NCPCs which was
evidenced through FTIR, XRD, SEM-EDX techniques. Incorporation of clay into the
polymer matrix resulted in NCPCs. The smooth surface morphology of NCPCs of
nano-bentonite than that of commercial was an indicative of more uniform dispersion
of clay particle in polymer matrix of NCPCs of nano-bentonite
