Thesis titled “Isolation and partial purification of antibacterial peptides from flowers of selected ornamental plants” submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry by Mansi Srivastava.
Present study “Isolation and partial purification of antimicrobial peptides from flowers of selected ornamental plants” was carried out with the following objectives: To isolate and purify antimicrobial peptides from flowers of Pisum sativum,Catharanthus roseus, Rosa indica, Lantana indica and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. To evaluate the antibacterial activity of the isolated antimicrobial peptidessagainst E.coli andS.aureus. To look for alternatives for harmful pesticides in eliminating pathogenic infections in plants. |
