Bhuhan~sw~r 2013 Dr. M.K. Mishra ABSTRACT Greengram (V. radiata L. Wilczek) is considered as an important pulse crop out of thirteen food legumes grown in India and third most important pulse crop next to Chickpea and Pigeonpea. Greengram contains 23.86 gm protein per 100 gm grain which is rich in lysine and amlnoacid. Mungbean is affected by iiumbel uf foliar and root diseases, out of which yellow mosaic caused by mungbean yellow mosaic virus is very serious anci is responsible for wide spread damRge upto 100 per cent affecting yield potential and quality. Survey conducted in different villages of Bargarh district during Kharif 2012 indicated incidence of yellow mosaic disease from a minimum of 2.29 per cent to maximum of 12.30 per cent. The symptom of yellow mosaic included yellow mosaic of leaves, complete yellowing, reduced leaf size, puckering of leaves, stunting of inflorescense and shortened pods. Mungbean yellow mosaic vinIS was not transmitted by sap, seed, and dodder. Sixty per cent and 87.5 per cent transmission was observed through graft and insect vector (Bemisia tabaci) respectively. Positive con'elation of maximum and minimum temperature, afternoon relative humidity and wind velocity "'ere observed for the incidence of yellow mosaic disease. All weather parameters contlibuted 81.7% for the incidence of yellow mosaic disease. ImidaclLlprid spnly @ 3mli 1 O1t at different stages (20&35 DAS, 30&45 DAS, 40&60 DAS) of crop growth proved superior over Neem seed kernel based EC (NSKB EC) @ 3 mlllt spray and cultural practices like fixing of yellow sticky trap with or without roughing. Maximum reduction of yellow mosaic (95.49%) was observed in Imidacloprid spray @ 3m1l10lt at 20 and 35 DAS with maximum yield of 12.33q/ha. Equivalent yield was obtained (lO.57q/ha) with spraying NSKB EC at 20 and 35 DAS "'nd T"'l'd"'I"l oT'lr1c c:pr"'v at '20&45 D/} ~ LlO&6n DA ~ Out of' 11') nermplac:n"' |
