| Description |
CPE of sheep pox virus in sheep testis, kidney and thyroid cells was recorded. Serial passages of IVPM strain and RM/65 strain of virus were done. The cell associated virus titre remained higher than that of free virus. Although a batch of vaccine prepared from 24th passage RM/65 strain incorporating aluminium hydroxide gel was safe and potent, the intradermal injection of the free virus produced generalised lesions in sheep.
