Description Peanut is an important economical oil seed crop, mostly cultivated owing to its oil, protein and
carbohydrate. In recent pathogens attacking the crop at various stages have been increased which
has resulted in severe yield losses and in some cases impairing the seed quality of groundnut
(Arachis hypogaea L.). Considering the impact of this, a study was conducted in AICRP on
Groundnut, Chintamani entitled “Influence of bio-inoculants on growth, seed yield and quality of
summer groundnut (KCG-2)”. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design
with 12 treatment combinations were replicated thrice. The treatment combination includes viz.,
T1-Control, T2-DAPG 1 (2, 4- diacetylphloroglucinol), T3-DAPG 2 (2,4-
diacetylphloroglucinol), T4-DAPG 4 (2, 4- diacetylphloroglucinol), T5-FP 86
(Fluorescent psuedomonads), T6-FP 98 (Fluorescent psuedomonads ), T7-Trichoderma
harzianum, T8-DAPG 1 + Trichoderma harzianum ,T9-DAPG 2 + Trichoderma
harzianum,T10-DAPG 4 + Trichoderma harzianum, T11- FP86 + Trichoderma
harzianum,T12- FP98 + Trichoderma harzianum. The results revealed that, treatment
combination of DAPG 4 + Trichoderma harzianum recorded highest growth, yield and quality
attributes viz., plant height (40.10 cm), less number of days to maturity (114), higher
number of nodules (131), higher dry weight (0.41 g), pod yield per hectare (2673 kg ha-
1), haulm yield per hectare (3351.33 kg ha-1), higher shelling percentage (73.33),
germination (92.50 %), mean seedling length (30.03 cm), dry weight (78.50 mg), SVI-I (2685),
TDH (2.75 at A480 nm), oil (45.67 %) and protein (31.25 %).
