Description newline Yoga has the potentiality to heal the ailments from the grass root. It is the common experience that every patient feels the instantaneous wellbeing, a feeling of relief and freshness after yoga therapy sessions. But, there are scarcities of parameters to show the extent of wellbeing achieved by yoga therapy. Therefore there is a necessity to develop proper parameters to show the wellness felt after yoga therapy which is essential to evaluate scientifically. Therefore, the present research work is a unique scientific approach to assess and standardize the effect of yoga therapy.
newlineThe assessment of the effect of yoga therapy on sinusitis is undertaken for the present study. According to several reference studies, the effects of Yogic techniques on Sinusitis have been done, but no study was conducted with proper parameters to evaluate the effect of Yoga therapy. Earlier studies show that yoga can be used to treat sinusitis, but the wellness feeling and relief is not proved by scientific methods. Therefore, during the present study, assessment of the improvement is done by using Infra Red Thermal Imaging System (IRTIS) along with blood tests. IRTIS is a totally noninvasive method and this is the first time which is used to assess the effect of yoga therapy. During the study, the effect of yoga therapy on sinusitis has been studied along with a control group.
newlineThe entire thesis is described in 9 chapters, viz., introduction, basic principles of yoga therapy, concept of sinusitis, Infra Red Thermal Imaging System, literature survey, material and methods, observations and results, discussion and conclusion.
