Description Migration is an important part of human history It is the movement of people from one place to another place The causes of migration are varied India too has seen migration throughout its history both internal and external This thesis is based on the internal migration process which occurred in Kerala during the first half of the 20th century Women were also participants in this process of migration and this thesis tries to look at womens participation in the process The migrants came mainly from Moovattupuzha Pala Meenachil Thodupuzha and reached Nilamboor Chemberi Mananthavadi Kozhikode Iritty and Palakkad in Malabar and acquired lands and settled down under inhospitable conditions
