Description The history of conquest and domination is as old as human race itself
newlineWestern imperialism especially of the last five centuries has strongly influenced
newlinethe socio-political cultural and linguistic life of the present day world It has farreaching
newlineeffects than previous forms of domination The strong psychological
newlineimpact of colonialism still exists and defines human relationships The political
newlinedominance of the West over the rest of the world has generated the binary of
newlinecoloniser and colonised Colonialism is complex both at the ideological and
newlinepractical levels It marks the darkest era of human history since it indicates the
newlinesocio political and cultural domination of one group of people over the other But
newlineat the same time it is related to different modes of production scientific
newlineinnovations and technical progress Hence colonialism has an inevitable impact
newlineon human race It has affected not only the inhabitants of the colonised countries
newlinebut also the people of the West During and after colonialism the natives of the
newlinecolonies have undergone different and unique experiences which shaped their
newlinefuture and ideologies Colonialism has left the colonies exhausted not only
newlinephysically but also mentally and emotionally
