Description |
Abstract newlineThe designing of semiconductor nano-heterojunctions has been proved to be a successful strategy for developing more efficient photocatalysts than single semiconductor. This lab scale work explains the strategy to design such composites. LiFePO4/CuFe2O4 (LC) and LiFePO4/ BCNO/ CuFe2O4 (LBC) nano heterojunctions were synthesized by in-situ route. These nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), Tansmission electron microscopy (TEM), Vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) etc. The photocatalytical activity of as synthesized LC heterojunction towards the degradation of Paraquat tested under the sunlight. Futerthermore the photocatalytical activity was compared with the LBC nano Heterojunction. It was observed that LBC showed better results than LC. The photocatalytical activities of composites can be ascribed to the heterojunction. newlineBoth the magnetic nano hetero junctions were capable of scavenging oil from water determined from oil sorption studies. We investigated the effectiveness of LC and LBC in adsorption of the heavy metals (Hg). newline Summary and Conclusion p.,82;Recommendation and Future Direction p., 83; References p., 84-97; Appendices p.,98 |
