Description According to Indian traditional texts, the human being has five growth phases namely,
newlineand#347;aiand#347;ava (infancy), band#257;lya (childhood), kaumand#257;ra (adolescence/teenage/pre-youth), yauvana
newline(youth), vand#257;rdhakya (old age). The basis is not just the ageand#8223; but other vital criteria namely
newlineand#257;and#347;ramas (duties and responsibilities described in Indian traditional texts: brahmacharya,
newlinea a, vand#257;naprastha, and sanyand#257;sa) and pu uand#7779;and#257; a (objectives of the life narrated in
newlineIndian texts: dharma, artha, kand#257;ma, mokand#7779;a). Though the scientists, developmental
newlinepsychologists, and the Indian traditional texts claim that the learning process would start at a
newlinestage when the baby is in the motherand#8223;s womb itself, what one learns from the parents in the
newlinefirst four formative phases of life (and#347;aiand#347;ava, band#257;lya, kaumand#257;ra, and first part of yauvana)
newlineprovides firm foundation and continues to influence other phases of oneand#8223;s life. In support of
newlinethis view, time and again increasing number of research studies have been demonstrating that
newlineparenting process during infancy (and#347;aiand#347;ava), childhood (band#257;lya), adolescence or pre-youth
newline(Kaumand#257;ra), and first part of yauvana (youth) is one of the important factors significantly
newlinecontributing to the child/adolescent behavior. Many of the studies have shown noteworthy
newlinerelation between parenting processes and child delinquencies like aggression, violence,
newlineattitude supporting violence, and beliefs supporting aggression. Thus parents are often
newlineblamed for the delinquencies (if any) of the children. Further, they have also shown that the
newlineaggression and violent behavior surfacing during childhood/adolescence is mostly stable from
newlinechildhood to adulthood that could lead to multitude of problems like juvenile delinquency,
newlineadolescent relational problems, and adulthood criminal attitude. Further, empirical studies say
newlineit is essential to correct the child/adolescent behavioral problems, violent attitude or
newlineaggressive behavior at the earliest to deter delinquency in the later age points. Researchers
newlineare advocating many methods to address these childhood or adolesc
