vi newlineABSTRACT The present study mainly intended to find out the relationship between psychosocial adjustments and vocational aspirations of hearing impaired students at higher secondary level. It also enquires about the influence of psychosocial adjustment on the academic achievement of hearing impaired students. The sample consisted of 200 hearing impaired students selected from various special schools in six revenue districts of Kerala, viz Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode. The sample was selected using random sampling technique. To collect the data required for the study, tools and techniques such as psychosocial adjustment scale and vocational aspiration scale prepared and standardized by the investigator, socio-economic status scale developed by Kuppuswamy et al. (1978) with slight modifications, and achievement test scores were made use of. The collected data were subjected to analysis employing descriptive and inferential statistics such as mean, standard deviation, critical ratio, ANOVA, post hoc comparison Scheffeand#8223;s test, etc. The findings of the study ascertain the influence of psychosocial adjustment on the vocational aspirations and academic achievement of hearing impaired students at higher secondary level.
