| Abstract | Gill net is one of the most prominent fishing gear in the artisanal sector and it is widely used all along Gujarat coast.It is estimated that gill netting constitutes 20% of the different fishing methods employed all over the world. In Gujarat, it accounts • for about 27% of the total fish landings of the State. Conventionally, gill nets are operated by non-mechanised crafts such as dug-out canoes and plank built boats. |
