Abstract |
The review three different proposals for estimating the weight of nets, evolved by different workers. the first proposal, based on the work of schimdt and Auwand . and the third require the use of elaborate tables or graphs for their application. the second can be divided into three parts. The first part can be applied only if a specimen of webbing in available.the second part part is an extract from the work of Carrothers and is meant only for nylon nets of particular range of twine and mesh sizes. The third part gives a general procedure for estimating the weight of cotton webbings. Since all the above methods are either cumbersome or have limited application, the author conducted certain experiments to assess the weight of webbing made of different materials and specifications and the results of these experiments are communicated in this paper. |
