| Abstract | The innovative behaviour of fishermen operating plywood craft, plank built craft and catamaran were analysed. On the innovation-decision behaviour component, all fishermen categories had higher index scores than the innovativeness component. The overall innovative behaviour index scores of fishermen operating these craft were 51.31, 51.2I and 38.13 for the sample from Kerala and 61.44, 43.22 and 41.43 for the sample from Tamil Nadu. The extent of influence of the 22 selected variables on the innovative behaviour of the fishermen is presented. |
