Abstract |
Clostridium perfringens is probably the most extensively studied anaerobic bacterium pathogenic for humans. C. perfringens, formerly C. welchii, has been known as the cause of gas gangrene, since 1892 when it was first described by the American bacteriologist Welch. The first indication of an association with food poisoning, however, was established in the 1940s by Knox and Mac Donald in England and Mc Clung in the US.The details about C. perfringens is explained here. These details were revealing the exact information about C. perfringens food poisoning. |
