Description |
There is a need for a simple manual in English for people interested in aquaculture, according to Donald R. Swift, an expert who has worked for many years on development projects with the FAO and other agencies. That explains why he put his experience on paper in the form of an 'Aquaculture Training Manual' which provides basic information in readily accessible form. It consists of two parts: the first deals with the basic biology of fish and shell fish suitable for fish farming including details on their growth, nutrition, reproduction and different raising techniques. The second part deals more directly with the raising of salmonids, perch, tilapia, carp, grey mullet, shrimp, crayfish, oysters and mussels.
