The Coastal Aquaculture Centre being constructed near Honiara in the Solomon Islands will include a giant clam nursery complex. The Centre has been established by ICLARM (International Centre for Living Aquatic Resources Management) which is based in the Philippines. The intention is to conduct a cooperative programme of research, training and information on aquaculture and fisheries for the benefit of the host country and others in the South Pacific Region.
