The African Network for the Development of Ecological Agriculture (ANDEA) has now got a base in Ghana. The main aims of this network are to encourage research in biological agriculture and to disseminate the results to farmers. ANDEA encourages the use of organic manure instead of chemical fertilizers, and methods of biological control to replace pesticides. It advocates the use of light tools which preserve the soil structure, and also encourages the planting of trees to combat erosion.
