Description |
Expanding populations require greater productivity from the land which in turn often necessitates the use of expensive and dangerous chemicals. Many people still ignore the perils of spraying without wearing protective clothing. They fail to read labels and implement recommendations, fail to wash and dispose of residues and containers safely, and fail to store toxic products in their proper containers, clearly marked and locked away for safety. The result is many unnecessary deaths and serious injuries every year. Reaping without weeping is a delightful cartoon book which graphically illustrates all these problems. Centred around three Caribbean families, the stories depict the consequences of the risks taken by the foolish and the precautions taken by the wise. Every extension office whether in the Caribbean, Africa or the Pacific, will want at least one copy!
