Description |
A new plant biotechnology laboratory opened in Dakar, Senegal, in October 1991. It was funded by the French Ministry for Cooperation and was set up by the Senegal Institute for Agricultural Research (ISRA) and the institut francais de recherche scientifique pour le developpement en cooperation (ORSTOMl). The complex consists of two large laboratories and four rooms for in vitro culture and planting seedlings, and accommodates 20 scientists. The laboratory is headed by Pape Sall of Senegal's DRPF/ISRA (Direction des recherches pour la production forestiere).
