Description CD-ROM technology has become an important tool for storing and retrieving large quantities of information. This technology has great potential and already offers an excellent opportunity to respond to the information needs of scientists, administrator sand experts working in and for less developed countries.

CTA, in collaboration with the International Labour Office, felt that it would be appropriate to appraise and evaluate experiences with this form of information technology, both from the technical and the financial perspectives. In December 1991, CTA invited a number of information experts to take part in a workshop held in Geneva, where relevant issues were presented and discussed. The proceedings of this workshop entitled CD-ROM for international development have now been published.

The report of an International Workshop held from 25-27 May 1992 in Port of Spain, Trinidad on Diagnostic Services for Agriculture and the Environment and the proceedings of a seminar on Seed pathology, held from 20-25 June 1988 in Copenhagen, Denmark have been published and are also available from CTA.
