Description |
Women s information services and networks provides the reader with a guide to these services and networks. An introduction on the impact of communication technologies on global networking, including the importance of electronic services for women s networks, is followed by chapters covering south-east Asia, eastern Europe and southern Africa. The organisations are grouped by region and brief descriptions of their activities and services, as well as contact addresses, are included. The listing includes not only regionally active women s networks working in the field of rural development, education and health, but also organisations that are only relevant locally. Although, the selection criteria for the inclusion of organisations seem unclear, this directory nevertheless provides a quick reference to womenŽs information services throughout the world. The final part of the book contains a short directory of Internet sources on the topic. (See Links) Women s Information Services and Networks, A global source book.
