Description |
The report describes the status of various activities selected and implemented as part of sustainable intensification in East Shewa action site, Ethiopia. The proposed activities cover three major intervention areas viz., Arresting degradation and rehabilitating degraded lands, increasing productivity and profitability through diversification and intensification of the agricultural systems and enhancing the use efficiency of resources and inputs including labor, and increasing income by realizing the synergies that exist in the system. Based on the analysis of data on biophysical conditions and on discussions with farmers and other stakeholders, a number of activities under each of the three intervention areas were identified and started implementing the same. This report provides a summary of the progress made during the past 6 months.
