Description |
This non-exhausted manual summarizes main steps in integrated systems analysis: (1) problem analysis and system boundary definition, (2) system structural analysis, (3) system functional analysis (including feedback loops and goal-driven performances), (3) identification of potential system management options, research what-if questions and scenarios design. Typical cases for rain-fed and irrigated farming systems are considered. The difference of this outcome from other non-system analyses is that it strives to consider combinations of management interventions to obtain whole system performance in relevant to goals, based on well-understood system mechanisms.
