Description This paper sets out to explore the issues around
knowledge management - what it is and how it might
be applied, particularly with a view to enhancing
resilience in the Horn of Africa and contributing
to the improved impact of interventions and
activities. This is not a comprehensive review, nor
can it be considered a definitive work on knowledge
management. The paper seeks to present some
of the existing views and opinions on knowledge
management and its role in the HoA and to inform
the on-going knowledge management activities
supported by the Intergovernmental Authority on
Development (IGAD) and the Global Alliance
