Description |
The threshers were found to be about 60-70% efficient for sorghum and less than 50% effiecient for finger millet. There was no provision of a blower which meant farmers would still spend more money on winnowing. The fabricators took note of this and are working to fix blowers to improve the grain cleanliness. One fabricator in Busia town (Kirloskar Ltd) has achieved about 95% efficiency for sorghum and the machine will be tested during the April-July 2017 cropping season.
