Description |
Collaboration of PABRA members (NARS and CIAT) supports the development partner organizations (DOs) e.g. NGOs/farmers organizations and public extension to select farmer seed enterprises (individual or groups) who are able to produce and market seed in their communities. This support entails training of seed producers on pre- and post-harvest bean management and business by both NARS and local DOs. After training, they access parental seed (either certified or basic) to produce seed based on community demand (variety and quantity). The harvested seed is sold by farmers to other farmers in local markets and seed fairs.
