Description |
The “Sustained Diet Quality Improvement by Fortification with Climate-smart, Nutrition-smart Orange-fleshed Sweetpotato in Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR), Ethiopia” project is a 4.5-year activity funded by the European Union. To facilitate communication and visibility activities around this project it has adopted a short-hand name that reflects the projects scope and objectives: Quality Diets for Better Health (QDBH) The QDBH project is being implemented by the International Potato Center (CIP) and partners People in Need (PIN) and Emory University in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR) in Southern Ethiopia. The project tests new OFSP varieties and nutrition training approaches using three treatments: 1. Full treatment: A Healthy Baby Toolkit (HBT) consisting of a standardized bowl and slotted spoon which facilitates mothers to feed their children appropriate portions of food with the correct density at the right frequency together with a training program and OFSP planting stock; 2. Partial treatment: The training program and OFSP planting stock alone. 3. Control: No treatment until after the endline data collection. Treatments are organized by kebeles. |
