Description |
In a study conducted in Gobu Sayo woreda, Ongobo bakanisa kebele. Farmers identified 2 key drivers of land use change which had a huge impact on shaping the community. These changes took place during the Derg regime between 1974-1991 (1967 to 1983 Ethiopian Calendar). These are: Government’s Resettlement and land redistribution Policy and Establishment of Eucalyptus plantations. This study provides an in depth understanding of these changes, adoption of trees on farm, challenges encountered and trees preferred by farmers.
