Description Silverbellies constitute an important group of demersal fishery resource along Tamilnadu coast. They are explited by trawl and a variety of artisanal gears like shore seines, boat seines and gill nets. The southeast region contributed nearly 85% of the silverbelly landings of india and Tamnadu's share was 70%.
