Description The present communication contains the description of the life history of two calanoid
copepods, Pseudodiaptomus aurivilli Cleve and Labidocera bengalensis
Krishnaswamy. The development proceeds in the general calanoid pattern except
that in both species there are only five free-living naupliar stages, the first being
suppressed. A similar condition has been noted by earlier workers (vide Johnson,
1948).
