Description |
Studies on sea-water are important in fisheries research as the conditions in the sea play major roles in the availability of the basic producers and suppliers to the food chain in the sea and the fish itself, and yet these studies on our inshore waters are limited and scattered. The temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and the nutrient salts like dissolved inorganic phosphates, nitrites and silicates of the seawater along the North Kanara Coast observed from January 1960 to December 1964 constitute this report. Ramamurthy (1963) reports about the studies he made here during 1954-58. |
