Description |
Redescriptions of two species of monstrilloid copepod of the genus Cymbasoma I.C. Thompson, namely C. tropica (Wolfenden), a new record for Indian waters and C. longispinosum (Bourne) earlier described from Vizhiiyam, South Kerala Coast are given here based on specimens obtained from the plankton of the Bombay Coast. The status and validity of C. nicobarica described by Sewell (1949) based on a male specimen has been critically discussed and it is considered here as the male of C. tropica.
